LESS PAIN WITH FUNCTIONAL GAIN...
Welcome to University Pain Medicine
University Pain Medicine was established by Robert Florio, MD, PA, a double Board Certified physician who's philosophy is to provide the highest level of medical expertise to chronic and acute pain patients.
Achieving this by tailoring each patient's treatment plan to their individual needs.
Developing an individualized treatment plan utilizing all possible treatment options.
While developing a new treatment plan use, as a guide, past treatment outcomes including positive responses to different medications including opiates; treatment modalities such as massage, acupuncture and physical therapy; response to procedures including nerve blocks, tendon, joint and trigger point injections as well as more invasive interventional techniques.
Value the patient's input when developing a particular treatment plan to achieve desired goals.
Informing and encouraging the patient to incorporate a multidisiplinary plan whenever possible without mandating treatment- " What works wonderfully for one patient does not necessarily work for another. Compliant patients in severe chronic pain merit the upmost respect by their physician and pharmacy."
Recognizing and treating underlying factors which may contribute to severe chronic pain. This includes bioidentical hormone replacement, including testosterone treatment, and life choices which incorporate a wellness program detailed in the Florida Department of Health's guide "the 4 life plan" including ways to 1. eat healthy 2. be active 3. avoid tobacco 4. get checkups and take control.
